President, Founder, and National Spokesman

E. Calvin Beisner, PhD, is founder, president, and national spokesman of The Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation, a nonprofit Christian think tank educating the public and policymakers on Biblical Earth stewardship, economic development for the poor, and the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Biblical worldview, theology, and ethics. The author of over 15 books and hundreds of articles, he has testified as an expert witness on the economics and ethics of climate and energy policy before the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, lectured on climate change for the Pontifical Institute on Justice and Peace at the Vatican, spoken for a dozen or so of the International Conferences on Climate Change, and is a popular speaker for churches, schools, and conferences. A former professor of historical theology and social ethics at Knox Theological Seminary and of interdisciplinary studies at Covenant College, he holds a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies in Religion and Philosophy from the University of Southern California, a M.A. in Society with Specialization in Economic Ethics from International College (now defunct), and a PhD in Scottish History focused on the political thought of the late-seventeenth-century Scottish Covenanters from the University of St. Andrews. He and his wife of over 40 years, accomplished portrait painter Deborah Melvin Beisner, have seven children and expect their 17th and 18th grandchildren in October and November of this year.
